Human amazes me sometimes.

kennysia.com posted an entry about him trying cobra stuffs one time, and as usual, he got hurled with abuses and insults etc.

When i mean abuses and insults, i don't mean people commenting that "It's cruel" type of comment, i meant those that really say bad stuffs about him, and condemn him etc. I think its a cruel act, but i don't think he did anything "too bad" that deserves me to start cursing him, so i leave it at that.

Lets think logically; of the 100% people who had hurled abuses at him, lets just say 50% are just trying to find fault, probably too much time, bo-liao, dislikes him, jealousy etc.

The other 50% are probably saying it because they call themselves "animal lovers", and therefore want to show their love to the environment etc etc.

But honestly, i'm positive that possibly 50%-75% of the 50% of "so-called-animal-lovers" actually takes shark's fin soup, believe me?
(I honestly believe the remaining percentages are true animal lovers, therefore i have nothing but respect for them... i think...)

I don't exactly know the details to his trip, but i'm guessing that he actually went to some "cobra farm" or "snake restaurant" to try this "local-delicacy", where those cobras are probably bred to be eaten etc.
Cobras are fearsome predators, top-of-the-foodchain and all those yada yada stuffs, and a lot of people actually hated snakes, and honestly speaking, they aren't exactly "cute, cuddly and furry" right?

So what amazes me is how those people who stood up for those cobras, who are (probably) bred to eaten, can call themselves "animal lovers", when they themselves are probably still taking shark's fin soup?

If you really want to compare, except for the fact that the Shark's habitat is in the water, aren't their situation almost the same?

Except for the fact that shark's are:
- More endangered than cobras
- Lives in the wild, and not "bred to be finned"
- Caught and then cruelly finned, and then thrown back to the ocean left to die, probably screaming their bloody lungs out if they are given voices

If you seriously want to talk about "cruelty", isn't shark's fin soup more cruel than consuming a cobra's part?

Considering the fact that the snake probably died a fast death, whereas the shark are left floating in the ocean awaiting death, which won't be soon (they probably wish some predator would come gobble them up so they wouldn't need to suffer longer)... now who is more cruel?

If those people actually have the "rights" to call kennysia "cruel" just because of that, then surely it means i have every right to call everyone who takes shark's fin a baboon brandishing a stick, can't i? Since i don't take shark's fin at all.

If there is anymore type of people i hate, its a person who declare themselves "animal lovers", but they do nothing.
Not even if its something as easy as not taking shark's fin anymore.
Whether or not you like sharks, shouldn't an "animal lover" actually try protect all animals? Instead of choosing those "cute and furry" types only?

Example: I hate monkeys (but i like Great Apes), but i'll still protect them because they are animals after all, and therefore deserves our respect yadda yadda.
And no, i'll not take their brain nor eat their meat whatsoever. Its gross, but anyways, i'm pointing out the fact that just because i hate a certain type of animal, doesn't mean its ok to eat them.

Back to the whole situation i was talking about...

I'm not saying "it's ok to eat cobra"... I personally think its cruel...
But rather i'm pointing out how hypocritical those people are.

If you're a true animal lover, someone who really doesnn't take shark's fin soup etc etc and all (and did loads of conservation effort on your part), then you have every right to insult kennysia if you feel like it.

Otherwise, you're just making yourself look silly.

Funny how the human mind thinks right?
That it's not ok for someone to consume a cobra who is probably bred to be eaten, but its ok for everyone to eat shark's fin soup.

Humans are blessed with brains, shame we don't use them well.
