I don't understand...

I come across this outside The Pet's Safari @ Ikano today.

Its a collage on all the different pin-ups Pet's Safari has put up on their notice boards all around the shop before, about animal cruelty and whether or not Malaysians and pet owners alike have compassion towards animals.
The answer to the latter would be NO, obviously.

Mind you, some of the stories i've read there are so cruel, i hope those heartless, brainless fool who do so gets struck by lightning everytime they leaves their house. Or any shelter, i'm not choosy when it comes to people like them really.

So...

Do Malaysians and pet owners have compassion towards animals?

Its answered for you right there.

Well, its really true you see.

But i don't want to go there today; i'll end up writing a very long, long-winded essay on what a fool all Malaysians can be when it comes to being "GOOD pet owners".

Because see, being good pet-owners aren't just being responsible to your pet's doings, but also taking good care of their health mentally and physically, and the time you spent with them etc etc. Not forgetting the basic responsibilities you owe to your baby and also your baby's own kinds - in other words OTHER animals of the same species, whether or not they belong to you.

In a pet dog's eyes, ALL THEIR OWNERS ARE HEAVEN SENT.
They will love and adore you unconditionally, which makes them such great pets, even if you're really a heartless fool who deserves lightning strikes every time you're out.

But who am i to judge whether or not anyone is being a good owner or not (plus seeing the fact all dogs thinks their owners are the best)?

All-in-all, let's be honest lar, there ARE good Malaysian pet owners, and i'm definitely not one of them.
In HeeChul's eyes, for me to be a good owner (or rather my sole-existence for Her Royal Highness) is just to provide her good food, no vet trips, and stop annoying her at all times. And also giving in to her every demands.

I can do the first, but the second NO because its for her own good (but i compromise by giving her her favourite food after trips), and the last ones definitely a big NO-NO - its just so fun to annoy her XD!~

Ok, back to the Pet's Safari pin-ups, ehem ehem *coughSIDETRACKEDasusualcough*!

I agree to what the collage says, and as a frequent customer of Pet's Safari, i've read all those news before and i agree what cruel fools all those people are (lightning please bestowed upon them your strikes, thank you.).

What i just don't understand is:
What THESE TWO NEWS has got to do with Malaysians being irresponsible pet owners?

I don't understand really.

I mean, seriously.
The one on the right is what i'm most puzzled about.

Remember Lucky and Flo, the CD and DVD-sniffing dogs?

I don't understand why those news are put together on a collage talking about animal cruelty.

For one, i like Lucky and Flo, their cute.
They are a pair of working dogs who love their jobs (to them, its all a game, and which dog doesn't like to play? Their success has already proven the fact they probably love doing so!), and i do believe they are well-loved and cared for. Who knows the truth really, but if i'm not mistaken their handlers are ang-moh, so i can trust on the fact they are well-cared for.

Also, they are very precious and priceless, they ARE the first animals in the world trained to detect optical discs. Not forgetting both have like a very heavy price on their heads in the market for all the successful captures they've assisted. If any, i find Malaysian pet owners should look towards them for the way they are cared for.

Anyways, if THAT is cruel, shouldn't all working dogs retire as of now, to prevent further "animal cruelty" because they are working? Especially those dogs trained to sniff drugs?

Hmm...

Secondly, the one on the left is more like an ADVERTISMENT of puppies-up-for-sale.

I forgot the exact words to it, but i read it a few times and it bloody seemed like an ad to me!
(One line bolded there says: "Unfortunately, i cost RM1,100." - like ad or what?)

Maybe they are talking about this poor pup being passed from owner-to-owner, and nobody wants it and all... i have this feeling its Jackie but i'm just guessing.

But anyways, if it's "cruel", in the sense nobody wants the poor baby, well... maybe people will want it if its FREE, or up for adoption!
You have to pay surely more difficult to find owner right?
Its like selling adee, duh!

Moreover, if they think selling pets are "cruel", look who's talking. This poor pup probably has a better home with the breeder than all the other dogs sold there.

Its all part of a "business" for breeders to sell their pups isn't it? As long as the dogs are breed not SOLELY for profit purposes, but rather to continue its good line aside from getting to earn some extra cash and cover the money you've spent, i'm ok with it.
To make it easier to understand, as long as the mother and the pups are properly cared for (then breed all you want).

This piece of news is looking for pet buyers, again, i can't find if it has anything to do with COMPASSION nor animal cruelty.

If it does has, it probably have to do with compassion for the person who buys the dog punya WALLET, or "wallet cruelty".

BTW, if you happen to drop by Pet's Safari, do give that notice a look (it's outside the shop, thats why i can take pics of it). I solemnly swear when i read that notice, a big drop of sweat appeared on my forehead, because firstly it says the pup is looking for good owners and all, then the "unfortunately i cost xxx" part... very the (= =")... honestly...

But ah, you see, maybe they don't have enough news to make up the collage?

But fail lar really, in my own humble opinion, to use those two news as part of the collage.

Am i right or what?
