Please spay your pets!

I just watched this preview to a show which Super Junior will be in, its called "Animal Farm" (the English translation anyways), and its about all those homeless puppies (if i'm not mistaken, they say there's around 60,000 homeless pups in Seoul/ Korea?), to which Super Junior are going to try and help those poor homeless pups find homes!
(If you like animals, especially dogs, or you like to see good-looking guys, click here!)

Or you can click the big PLAY BUTTON on the window below:

JUST WATCH IT lar!!

Its so heart-wrenching, especially seeing this pup yowling as if very kesian...

I've actually written a post on this topic before (homeless pets), but never get round posting it because i wrote it in a very emotional state (tearing all the way~), and very lazy to edit it. It was very long-winded anyways, very sure nobody would want to read it, since i came up with a lot of "counter-attacks" for those lame excuses people give for not spaying their pets.

Anyways, i'm writing this again, hoping this time, i'll keep a right mind and not be too long-winded (and emotional).

You see, there are just so TOO many homeless animals in this world.

Apart from irresponsible owners (the "Oh so cute, lets keep it" which later turns to "OMG, it grew into a huge monster, lets throw it away"...), one MAIN REASON why there are so many homeless animals is because owners didn't want to get their pets spayed.

Its just in an animals' nature to repopulate; its not like you can give dogs or cats "abstinent classes" and tell them to stay away from mating until they can ensure all of their offsprings have a good home right?

If you can do so, i'll worship you for the rest of my life.

So anyways, one too many reason i've always heard when asked why their pets won't be getting spayed is "because its cruel".

Yes, its "cruel" maybe, but i bet that person has NEVER EVER been to SPCA or PAWS before.

I've been there a fair number of times, and i can tell you, everytime i go there, as happy as i am that i get to see and play with dogs (having not being able to own one), i always come out from it with a broken heart, usually close to tears.

There are just TOO MANY homeless pets there.

Every week (month?), THOUSANDS of dogs or cats are put to sleep at SPCA because there are just too many of them, and too little space.

By not getting your pet spayed because "you think it its cruel" - unless you are 100% it will not repopulate, or you are VERY SURE all their babies will definately get a good home - honestly, sorry to put reality into your "pretty little world", but it is EVEN MORE CRUEL if the babies came out, and nobody wants them.

Imagine an unwanted child.

Even animals have feelings ok?

A pet is for lifetime, not only for "when they are manageable".
(though i honestly doubt kittens and puppies will feel that, this should be told to irresponsible owners (and to remind owners who keep pets) who throw their pets away; because one minute the pets are loved, second they are suddenly abandoned...)

I went to the vet last 2 weeks, and the volunteer there asked me to help ask around if anyone wants this kitten.

Apparently, this heartless cruel pain-in-the-ass idoitdetic fool had actually left a pack of kitten in a box, in the middle of a parking lot, IN THE MIDDLE OF A RAIN!

The rest of the pack had to be put to sleep (too weak), only that one little survivor survived the whole ordeal.
I almost adopted her, but luckily she was adopted much earlier =)!

This is the little survivor!
(Sorry pic not clear, she kept on moving around!)
So cute ne! Hopefully you'll have a place you can call home from now (^^ )!~

So if you think about it, which is more cruel?

Besides, spaying will actually help your pets live healthier and live a longer life, and etc etc... you can Google about this and probably get back like loads of webpages smack at your face telling you the benefits!
Here's one and two!

Although yes, there are risk whether or not you get your pets spayed, there are risk WHICHEVER CHOICES YOU CHOOSE! So its best you get advice from your vet before making the big decision. All pets are different, never forget that.

Of course, be careful of the vets you go to, some says its good to spay them because they want to earn that extra $$$! Its always important to go to a vet where you can SEE that the vet actually CARES for the animals!
I've been to this vet who totally into $$ only... how i regretted getting HeeChul spayed there, THANK GOD she is fine and well (and fat) now!!

But one thing i'm very sure is, if you fear that risk and choose not to get your pet spayed, PLEASE at least make sure the babies will be well-taken care of. We really don't need more unwanted animals into animal shelters.

Some reasons why so many homeless animals:
  • People take them when they are cute, but abandon them when they end up:
    • being destructive (due to not spaying, not enough exercise, or wasn't trained or disciplined etc),
    • spraying around (due to not spaying too, so they'll feel the need to mark territory),
    • grown bigger (because that idiotdetic person didn't grow an inch since birth)
  • People didn't spay their pets, so when their pets runaway high chances of repopulating!
  • A lot of people prefer BUYING pure-breeds (though the fact remains that there are so many mixed-breeds or "mongrels" BECAUSE of us...)...
There actually more, but can only think of these few now!

And if you think spaying is expensive $$, one day when your pet gets sick BECAUSE of some sickness indirectly (or directly) caused because they were NOT spayed, you might end up paying MORE $$$... or worst, the feeling of regret why didn't you opt for spaying earlier...

Unless you're pulling a cruel, heartless idoitdetic fool act and decided to let the pet die instead of bringing it to a vet for at least a chance cured (because you so kiamsiap to pay that little amount of money to save a life)...

I'm not saying after spaying its 100% guaranteed your pets won't get sick (there are risk of sickness whether or not you get them spayed, but if i not mistaken, not spaying the risk is higher?), but... you do the math. I a bit the lazy explain!

Also, i'm not trying to force or give people a mindset that "you must spay your pets"; this is just MY OWN OPINION, which is supported with true facts.

But ah, here is something i want people to REALLY THINK:
Example: if your dog is a MALE, you may think even if he impregnate another female "its non of my business", i needn't care about the babies (its the female side's responsible dee)...

That is really like the MOST SELFISH thing you can ever think of! You should be ashamed of yourself and deserve a round of undiluted Bubotuber pus (and one round face-down into the toilet bowl - though i pity the toilet bowl for having you in it)!!

It may not be your responsible, but you are contributing to the number of unwanted and homeless animals!!

So conclusion, when you get a pet, ALWAYS CONSIDER IF YOU SHOULD SPAY THE PET!
Never put that thought aside because you "feel it is cruel" or whatever reasons you can come up with! Always consider or think about it regardless! Even if you decided not to spay your pet in the end!

And always be A RESPONSIBLE OWNER!

Pets are for life, NOT FOR A "SEASON"!

Also, if you are free, try going to SPCA or PAWS to take a look, it'll give you another "view to life".

BTW, i'm blaming myself for contributing to BoyBoy's death.

Apart from being an irresponsible owner, another factor is because i didn't get him spayed (yes, even rabbits should get spayed - but i still doubt spaying for rabbits in Malaysia, since most vets don't have a lot of experience with rabbits).

Long story with a lot of reasons, don't want to get there (but you can ask me if you need that reason to understand why spaying is important, and why i'm so supportive of spaying... or because you KPC...).

But its the truth.
